The names of God that we have today all signify some great aspect that God has that was revealed to the nation of Israel.
We have names in the Bible like –
El Shaddai (Lord God Almighty)
Jehovah Nissi (The Lord My Banner)
Jehovah-Raah (The Lord My Shepherd)
Jehovah Rapha (The Lord That Heals)
Jehovah Shammah (The Lord Is There)
Jehovah Tsidkenu (The Lord Our Righteousness)
Jehovah Jireh (The Lord Will Provide)
Jehovah Shalom (The Lord Is Peace)
We have those names in the Old Testament – but what names do we have in the New Testament,
God becomes personal – He is now our FATHER – ABBA – Daddy
Father of mercies (2 Corinthians 1:3 );
Father of lights (James 1:17 );
Father of glory (Ephesians 1:17 ).
But here is one that is often overlooked – an aspect of God that in my opinion encompasses all the other aspects of God, because all the other things we need, and we ask God for, there is one name that has significance for me, and I hope to refresh your thinking about it tonight and help you in all the other areas at the same time.
Revelations 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords.
The description of God, of Jesus Himself that WE will all call Him – and we will call Him that for a reason. HE IS FAITHFUL AND TRUE.
4103 | pistos pis-tos’ |
from – peitho 3982; objectively, trustworthy; subjectively, trustful:–believe(-ing, -r), faithful(-ly), sure, true. |

from alhqhV – alethes 227; truthful:–true. |
God is faithful even when we are not. God is true – a prime example – of who and what we are supposed to work toward, to imitate and become more like Him.
Faithful – Loyal, Constant, Steadfast, Unswerving
True – In alignment with Facts and Reality – Accurate and Exact – Without variation.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
What does this mean to us? What does this really mean? Not just in a religious sense that we often get, oh yes God is faithful and true. Amen brother, amen!
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Without His guidance we are doomed to repeat the same mistakes again and again.
NPR Reference – Blindfolded walking.
When you set your focus on something, you will reach your destination. Without something to look to as an example and a goal, you will wander around in circles indefinitely never reaching your goal.
He is a worthy goal to set your eyes upon.
Psalm 121:1-3
121 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
2 My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.
3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
Luke 21:26 Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
Set your focus on Him, He is our goal, our example and our helper every step of the way.
This all seems well and good, but how many of us have prayed for things and not gotten an answer, how many of us have felt like we missed something somewhere and are still inwardly seeking answers or have almost given up because of frustration in waiting?
What are you believing for RIGHT NOW? Anything? Are you using your faith to believe for anything?
I want to challenge you tonight to believe for that thing that you might have given up on already. If it is a Godly thing, something you need and there is no real reason why God would withhold it from you – pick up that hope again, exercise your Faith again. TRUST GOD – He is Faithful and True.

What do we need God for in our life?
He has provided us so many things that this sermon cannot contain it all. Imagine if you will a foundation, and upon this foundation God has built a structure of support for our EVERY need.
The first thing that EVERY person needs… forgiveness from sins, Salvation,
1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
He is faithful and just to forgive our sins –
Why do we question God and His faithfulness sometimes?
Bad Doctrine, lack of foundation in the word and sometimes just plain impatience.
Is this the answers to all of Lifes Questions, no but it is a start to help you keep in Mind that GOD is FAITHFUL AND TRUE – He has provided the framework for everything we have need of and then some.

3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.

2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.
Change – 2 Corinthians 3:18
But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Growth – 1 Peter 2:2
As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
Have you had enough yet? Are you reminded of the fact that you have heard all of these scriptures before – time and time again? Then why did you stop believing for that thing – your hope and desire you were expecting from God?
Abraham had Isaac well past his and Sarah’s prime. He almost gave up so many times.
Moses killed an Egyptian in sensing he was supposed to help in some way. Was promised a promise land and never got to see it himself. Spent 40 years in the desert trying to get himself and his people ready to inherit the promises God had for them.
David was anointed to be King years upon years before he ever sat in the throne. Was given many chances to TAKE what he knew was his – but he waited.
So why do we give up on things we are believing for? Are we not supposed to believe or ask God for anything?
Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
John 14:12-14 12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
James 4:3
3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
We think of foundations sometimes like we think of modern houses, sometimes the foundations crack, need repair, sometimes the foundation is made out of the wrong materials and they fall apart.
God’s foundation is a SURE foundation. Buildings in biblical times were made to hold tons of stone and support a structure that would last for all time. They destroyed the temple in Jerusalem but the foundation is still there… God knows how to build a strong foundation.
Everything you need is provided for us in God’s Word – Trust Him and you will find out what is true for yourself.
James 1:18 – 2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
9 Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:
10 But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.
11 For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.
12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.
17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
That is all I wanted to share with you tonight. It is ok to trust God, to use your faith, to believe for things, circumstances and issues to change, God is Faithful, and True.
